Posen Chamber sets annual meeting, plans benefit dinner dance
The Posen Chamber of Commerce has a pair of events planned for February and early March, and they don?t have much to do with festivals or parades. On Wednesday, February 5, the Chamber will conduct its annual meeting. The annual session will follow the board?s regular monthly meeting at the chamber office on East 634 Highway.
At the annual meeting, a financial review is expected to be presented and several executive board seats will be filled. Those up for election this year are president Randy Idalski, treasurer Linda Sharpe, and trustees Gary Bisson, Leroy Woloszyk, and Meg Romel.
All five positions are two year terms. Any chamber member whose dues are current can either run for office or vote for nominees at the annual meeting. The other four serving board members are vice president Alletta Misiak, secretary Clem Misiak, Andrea Konwinski, and Dennis Goupell.
The second event is set for March 1 when a ?Zapusty Dinner Dance? is planned at the Posen Community Center. The benefit, for the Posen Consolidated Schools industrial arts program and the computer lab, is a pre-Lenten dance which will feature smoked pork loin and baked chicken with all the trimmings. Following the dinner, the Kielbasa Kings will provide dance music.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to be served at 6:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $20 per person.
Tickets can be purchased from most Posen merchants, the Posen school, or chamber members.
