Donna Jean Plume Daugherty

Donna Jean Plume Daugherty of Bradenton, Florida was born December 31, 1942 and went to be with her Lord and Saviour  September 19, 2025 in Bradenton. She was born to Donald and Betty (Benz) Plume in Lacrosse, Wisconsin, and attended schools in Millersburg and Owosso, and college at Grand Rapids School of the Bible & Music in Grand Rapids where she meet her husband Keith Daugherty. Married for 62 years, they lived in Grand Rapids, Rogers City and Bradenton. Donna worked with her husband in furniture and flooring business for 20 years. 

Donna also did crafts with her daughter Richelle as a business. Richelle had cystic fibrosis and could not work a regular job due to her illness. Donna’s brother John bought out the flooring business and worked, and lived in Rogers City. During that time Donna, Keith and John, Kathy built a large Amway business over the past 49 years. After the closing of Daugherty’s furniture, they moved to Florida to assist in the care of their elderly parents. During that time Donna managed indoor craft shows in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. They also owned a business at the Red Barn in Bradenton and still do. Donna was an accomplished pianist. She played for music groups from the college, and in several churches they attended.

 She was a private caregiver for 14 years for three different families. She retired because of her illness. When Donna became ill, she was cared for by Keith and his sister Janet Daugherty. 

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Betty (Benz) Plume; her daughter, Richelle Daugherty (Terry) Peltz; and her son, Brian Daugherty. She is survived by her husband, Keith Daugherty of Bradenton; her grandchildren

, Destiny (Mark) Davis of Bradenton and Dylan Daugherty of Rogers City; her brothers, John (Kathy) Plume of Coral and Tom (Nila) Plume of Hastings; a sister, Shirley (Kirk) Schaedig of Rogers City; two nephews, Johnathan (Candi) Plume and Troy (Jennifer) Plume; three nieces, Kayla Plume (Jacob) Selhorst, Desiree Schaedig Friday and Janna Schaedig (Jason) Nash; four grandnephews, Ethan, Logan, Casey and Finley; and a grandniece, Lauren.

A Celebration of Life will be held October 6 at 11 a.m., at Colony Baptist Church, 2920 U.S. 301 N, Ellenton, Florida  34222.
