Jack L. Bundy

Jack L. Bundy, 74, of Onaway, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada of natural causes.  Jack was born September 2, 1946 in Flint. He is survived by his sisters, Joann (Pete) McDonald of Onaway and Marci Harrison of Florida; a stepson, Eric (Onna) Leach of Onaway; two grandsons, Cooper and Lucas; nieces, Theresa (Don) DeFeyter of Mancelona and Tina Wiggins of South Carolina; and two nephews, Shawn McDonald and Pete (LeeAnn) McDonald, both of Onaway. Jack also leaves his grandnieces, grandnephews and in-laws.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeri; his parents, Goldie and William Bundy; and his brother, James.

Jack joined the Navy at 17 years old and was sent to Vietnam aboard the Brinkley Bass. He moved to the Onaway area in 1971 where he worked for Tube Fab in Afton until his retirement.  Jack married his longtime friend and companion, Jeri (Dixon) Leach in 1997.

Together they ran Bundy’s Party Store in Tower. Jack loved anything with a motor – cars, motorcycles and snowmobiles. He frequently bought cars and repaired them.  He loved to travel and was a member of the American Legion in Onaway and the Forgotten Eagles in Alba.   Strong in his Catholic faith, Jack was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Onaway. He was an active member of the community and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.       

A graveside service and military honors will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
