It’s been a remarkable year for the 2025 New Year’s Baby, Luke James-Thomas Klave, especially during the final month of the year.
The son of Brianna Bailey and Nick Klave, who was born Jan. 4, 2025 in Alpena was crowned the Presque Isle County Advance New Year’s Baby shortly after, welcomed a sister less than three weeks ago. Leah was brought into the family fold, Dec. 16, 2025.
Nick was happy to proclaim, “We had Irish twins in the same year.”
BRIANNA AND Nick were already raising an 8-year-old, James, and a 13-year-old, Katerina, before all the excitement in 2025, so it is a blended family still two short of a bunch, like the “Brady Bunch” of television fame.
“We’re complete with our four,” Brianna said.
With the publication of this week’s edition on the first day of the year, Luke will soon be passing along his crown to the 2026 New Year’s Baby.
“HE’S DOING great,” Nick said of his son’s progress. “He has already taken his first steps.” In the week leading up to Christmas, Luke took his first steps in his playpen and said a few words.
“Da da,” said Nick. “He says, ‘da da’ all the time.”
When it comes to toys, Luke can find enjoyment in almost anything, Brianna said, even a Mountain Dew bottle as an example.
Nick works for the Presque Isle County Road Commission and Brianna is a stay-at-home mom.
Luke’s proud grandparents are John Bailey and Karen Bailey.
If 2025 repeats itself, the wait for the 2026 New Year’s Baby won’t be long at all with a slew of prizes ready to be awarded, including a one-year, free subscription to the Presque Isle County Advance and Onaway Outlook at the top of the list.
