Eugene “Gene” Arthur Kuznicki Sr.
Eugene “Gene” Arthur Kuznicki Sr., 85, of Rogers City passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Medilodge in Rogers City April 23, 2026.
He was born July 31, 1940, in Rogers City to Thomas and Mary (Kendzorski) Kuznicki Sr.
On January 16, 1960 he married Gertrude Szatkowski at St. Casimir Catholic Church. He retired from Calcite after 30 years of employment. Gene was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, target shooting and playing cards. Gene was a handyman who could make, fix or weld anything.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude “Gertie”; four sons, Eugene Jr. of Rogers City, Jeffry Sr. (Irene) of Hawks, Calvin (Jennifer) of Hawks and Toby Sr. of Hawks; nine grandchildren, Samantha, Stephanie, Jeffry Jr., Erika, Erin, Vincent, Veronica, Toby Jr. and Clara; five great-grandchildren, Mya, Jonathan Jr., Madelyn, Zane and Miah; siblings; Marianne Dillon, Ron (Gladys) Kuznicki, Suzanne Bilger, Dennis (Kitty) Kuznicki, Judy (Ken) England, Arthur (Judy) Kuznicki, Carol Ciarkowski; and two sisters- in-law, Wendy Kuznicki and Michele Kuznicki.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Sr. and Mary; an infant daughter, Connie; a sister, Sally; brothers, Thomas Jr., John, Lawrence and Mark; and brothers-in-law,
Friends may visit at St. Ignatius Catholic Church Friday, May 15, from 10 a.m. through time of Mass for he and Gertie at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Don Geyman Officiating. The Daughter’s of Isabella will lead the Rosary in the front of church beginning at 10 a.m.
Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to St. Ignatius Catholic School’s Angel Fund in memory of Gene Kuznicki.
