Karen J. Quade

Karen J. Quade, 75, of Rogers City, passed away Sunday morning, June 28, 2026, at MyMichigan Health Center in Alpena.

The daughter of Herbert and Esther (Schlak) Quade was born July 4, 1950, in Alpena. She graduated from Rogers City High School in 1968.  Karen continued in the field of education, earning her teaching degree from Concordia College. She was a Lutheran School teacher for 47 years, educating children in Kansas, Wisconsin, Ohio, and finishing her career at St. John Lutheran School in Rogers City.  She earned her master’s degree while in Wisconsin.

Karen enjoyed being involved in many areas of the community. She volunteered in various organizations, including the historical museum and the senior center. With children as her greatest highlight, she helped at St. John School and Vacation Bible School. She was also involved with St. John Lutheran Church and served as the secretary of its Ladies Aid. With teaching as her career, she enjoyed reading and naturally kept notes of friends’ and family’s important events.
