Sandra “Sandy” Kay (Frank) Dempsey

Sandra “Sandy” Kay (Frank) Dempsey died September 4, 2026, in her home in Round Rock, Texas, surrounded by her family. Sandy was born January 1, 1941, in Howell to Donovan and Amelia “Midge” (Sober) Frank. Sandy was a devoted mother, grandmother and nana who cheered the kids from the sidelines at every event. 

Next to her family, she most loved her horses and dogs. She was a champion of pets and wildlife. Sandy formerly owned and operated the Best Western Tony London’s Resort in Trout Lake and the Driftwood Motel in Rogers City. 

She is survived by her daughters, Dawn (Joe) Grondin and Shawn (Matthew) Shirilla; her son Chad; her grandchildren, Teresa (Huskey) Wishnew, and Sage and Drake Shirilla; her great-grandchildren, Charli, Tucker and Dylan; her special nephew, Howard Cole. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Howard Cole; a brother, Dick; and her husband, Bruce Colasanti. 

The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. Donations in her name may be made to Shadow Cats of Round Rock.
