Lady Hurons in district finals

Tough defense and good shooting sent the Lady Hurons past the Oscoda Owls Wednesday in Rogers City in the district basketball semifinals.

The 56-30 win sends Rogers City into the district finals Friday at 7 p.m. against Alcona, a winner over Whittemore-Prescott last night.

Rogers City took a 6-0 lead after one quarter and increased its lead to 27-11 at halftime. Greta Grambau led a balanced scoring attack as all nine players suited up for the game made contributions to the win. Logan Schuiteman scored 11, Leann Knopf had 10, Sam Hall scored 9 and Shelby Schleben added 8 points in the win.

Ashley Scott scored 10 points to lead Oscoda.
