Posen playing for regional title

With their second consecutive district trophy, the Posen Viking softball team made the trip to Mancelona Saturday to play for the regional crown.

Posen (25-10) earned the right to move on by eliminating Hillman 9-2, and top-ranked Gaylord St. Mary 13-5.

They were slated to take on Alanson (12-13) winners of the Boyne Falls district.

Alanson was swept in a regular season match up with Gaylord St. Mary, 12-2 and 11-1.

The Vikings are looking for their first-ever regional title, after loosing a heart-breaking game to Pellston last year by a 1-0 count.
