Keith Vogelheim, 52, of Rogers City, was treated at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey and released after taking a spill on his 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Vogelheim was traveling on County Road 451, one-quarter of a mile east of Melke Road last Thursday at 9 a.m., when a deer ran onto the roadway. He applied the brakes to avoid the collision but the bike slid on loose gravel, causing Vogelheim to lose control and crash. The greatest amount of damage occurred in the back area of the motorcycle, but it was still driveable. Vogelheim was wearing his helmet. The accident was called in the next morning.
