Ruby Klimaszewski remembered as ambassador of goodwill for Posen

by Peter Jakey, PIN Managing Editor

Her family called her “queen of Posen.” Ruby Klimaszewski was many things: a musician, a writer, outdoor enthusiast, along with being a loving mother and busia. Ruby passed away unexpectedly November 19 at the age of 77.

She had been ill for only five days before her passing. She was one a correspondent for The Advance, writing her Posen News column for 20 years. She wrote about class reunions, queens, Posen students, and the Posen Potato Festival, among other things.

Ruby and her husband Gene moved to Florida in recent years, coming back in time for the Potato Festival each year. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Posen Consolidated Schools and wrote the “Posen Festival Polka.”

Her photo appears elsewhere on this page.
