Hilla makes Straits Area Conference second team.

End of the season awards have been handed out in the Straits Area Conference with a Huron junior making the second team. Center Devin Hilla, who averaged 8.3 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game, led his team in both categories. Steve Angeli of Sault Ste. Marie was named the player of the year and made the first team along with Austin St. Louis of St. Ignace, Riley Angeli or Sault Ste. Marie, and Ryan Hendrickson and Tyler Wilson both of Rudyard.

Joining Hilla on the second team were Curtis St. Louis of St. Ignace, James Walton and Kyle Root of Sault Ste. Marie, and Jared Clark of Rudyard. Earning honorable mention were Matt LeBerge and Joey Scheele of Cheboygan, Erick Hepker of St. Ignace and Lance Pinter of Newberry.

Rogers City won its third-straight district title, a feat never accomplished in Huron basketball history to highlight the 2010-2011 basketball season. Jessie Streich completed his second year as varsity coach.
