Megan Rya Dombrouski

Megan Raya Dombrouski, 37, of Indian River fought her final battle against the war of Epithelioid Sarcoma Cancer Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at home in the arms of her mother, father and surrounded by family members.

Megan was born October 15, 1976, daughter of Ronald and Cynthia (Dombrouski) Sischo. She attended Freesoil Community School while living in Mason County and then moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she graduated from Myrtle Beach High School.

Megan is survived by her parents, Ronald and Cynthia Sischo of Indian River; grandmother, Dolores Dombrouski and David Riley of Onaway; grandfather, Robert Dombrouski and Bernice Kurtz of Fountain; great-grandfather, Wayne DuRocher of Freesoil; aunts, Jackie Johnson of Fountain and Tina Dombrouski of Freesoil; three great-aunts and uncles, Bonnie and Ronald Rathbun of Scottville, Theresa and Bill Misze of Midland, and Rose and Walt Lardner of Columbia, South Carolina; great-aunt; Marcella Klukowski of Grand Rapids; two great-uncles, Phillip Ruschkewicz of Ludington and Richard Dombrouski of Irons; cousins, Jody Carlson and Stacy Wood both of Scottville, Brian and Bradley Larr both of Custer and Jessica Lawson of Cascade, Colorado; soulmate, Sgt. Maj. Mark R. Frye of El Paso, Texas; and her cat, Chloe, the cutest kitten in the world.

A funeral Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Cross of the Woods National Shrine Church in Indian River with the Rev. Mike Haney officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, February 21, at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of funeral mass.

A funeral Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals with military honors will be celebrated Saturday, March 1, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Custer with

the Rev. Anton Tran officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, February 28, 2014 at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of funeral Mass.

Memorial contributions in memory of Megan may be directed to the Dombrouski family for a memorial within the Veterans’ Hospital Administration that will be established at a later date.
