Ray N. Foerster
Ray N. Foerster, 96, of Onaway, died Wednesday June 8, 2016 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. The son of Alfred and Bertha (Stricker) Foerster, Ray was born in East Detroit January 13, 1920.
Surviving Ray is his daughter, Hollie (Paul) Sabatos of China, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Sally Foerster of Macomb; grandchildren, Kimberly (Donald Jr.) Snyder and Laura (Matt) Schumacher, both of Clinton Township, David (Kristy) Sabatos of Hazel Green, Wisconsin and Krista Sabatos of Grand Rapids; as well as seven great-grandchildren. Preceding Ray in death was his wife of 60 years, Luella in 2002; his son, Dennis in 2015; brothers, Harold and Clarence; and sisters, Leola and Irene.
Visitation was held at the Chagnon Funeral Home Friday, June 10. The funeral service for Ray was held at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church Saturday, June 11, with the Rev. Josh Ketelsen officiating. Ray’s final resting place is at Hillcrest Cemetery in Onaway.
