Board of Education Meeting Minutes
A regular monthly meeting of the Board of Education of the Posen Consolidated School District No. 9 was held on Monday, August 22, 2016 in the High School Library. Vice President Andrew Stone called the School Board Meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Members Present: Andrew Stone, Dennis Budnick, Danielle Kowalski, Anna Soik, Jesse Chappa and Brian Konieczny.
Members Absent: Kenneth Wozniak.
Also Present: Michelle Wesner, Superintendent/Principal, Alletta Misiak, Recording Secretary.
Visitors: Two.
Moved and supported to accept the minutes of the regular monthly meeting of July 18, 2016.
Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion Carried.
Moved and supported to approve the bills for the 2016-2017 school year.
Motion passed by a roll call vote: Ayes: All. Nays: None.
Old Business
Moved and supported to approve the Deficit Elimination Plan as presented with the updates for the 2016/2017 School Year.
Motion passed by a roll call vote: Ayes: All. Nays: None.
Support Staff Contract has been ratified waiting now for the new contracts to come in it will be a three-year contract.
Administrator’s Report (Mrs. Wesner)
Moved and supported to hire Christopher (Chris) Keller as Boys’ Varsity Basketball Coach.
Motion passed by a roll call vote: Ayes: All Nays: None
Moved and supported to eliminate bus transportation to all athletic games that are held in Rogers City and Hillman Area Schools. Parents will drive their children to the games as long as they have a valid driver’s license and insurance.

This school year we will be offering some elective classes for students.
New Business
Moved and supported to hire Mrs. Karrie Abbitt as Secondary Teacher replacing Ms. Hannah Pontius. She will be teaching Science 8/9, Foreign Language 9/10, Industrial Te

Information Items
The PCAC has agreed to purchase consumable math books for Jane Bielas Math classes. Upcoming PCAC events Spud Run during the Posen Potato Festival.
Students first day of class will be Tuesday, September 6.
