Raymond C. Roznowski

Raymond C. Roznowski, 87, of Metz passed away March 27, 2017 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.

He was born July 31, 1929 in Posen to Stanley and Agnes (Kierzek) Roznowski.

On February 3, 1951 he married Virginia Chojnacki at St. Dominic Catholic Church. He retired from Michigan Limestone Operations in 1992 after 38 years of service. Ray was always busy, whether he was doing custom combining, wood processing, septic tank cleaning, selling produce locally or providing Christmas trees to the Eastern Market, he enjoyed every minute of it talking with friends. In his “spare time” he would be out hunting, fishing or listening to polka music. Ray was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Dominic Catholic Church.

Mr. Roznowski is survived by five sons, Casimir (Linda) Roznowski of Alpena, Wayne C. (Janet) Roznowski of Metz, Bernard (Bonnie) Roznowski of Posen, Michael C. (Vicki) Roznowski of Hawks and Ernest Roznowski of Alpena; 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Cecelia Dembny, Elizabeth Dembny,
Ann (Cornelius) Haske and Sally (Arnold) Furhman; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; three sons, Clarence, David and Robe

rt “Disco”; one grandson, Raymond; two sisters, Helen Brzezinski and Regina Durecki; and five brothers, Eugene, Sylvester, George, Leonard and Bruno.

Friends may visit the Beck Funeral Home today (Thursday) from 5 until 8 p.m. where the Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 6:30 p.m. followed by the parish wake service at 7 p.m. conducted by Sister Mary Michelz. Visitation will resume Friday at St. Dominic Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass of at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating. Posen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7804 will accord military honors following Mass.

Interment will follow at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery.
