William Thomas Rygwelski

William Thomas Rygwelski, 76, of Rogers City passed away peacefully at home March 8, 2017.

He was born October 3, 1940 in Detroit.

Bill served in the United States Navy from 1957 through 1961. He owned and operated B & G Standard Service in Rogers City many years. On May 24, 1985 he married Deane Cook in Rogers City. Bill was a member of the Rogers City Servicemen’s Club. He enjoyed throwing horseshoes and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Rygwelski is survived by his wife, Deane; mother, Martina Bauer of Rogers City; brother, Jerome Kamyszek of Rogers City; sister, Judy (Dennis) Tipton of Merrill, Wisconsin; daughter, Debbie (Eric) Skikiewicz of Harrison Township; sons, Bill of Clinton Township, Robert (Wendy) of St. Clair Shores, Jeffery (Dawn) of Schoolcraft and Daniel (Becca) Cook of Ferndale; grandchildren, Dale, Tom, Andrew, Chris, Dustin, Zach, Sierra, Kaiya and Annabelle; and a great-grandson, Tristen.

Visitation will be at

the Beck Funeral Home Friday, March 17, from 3-8 p.m. Rogers City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 607 will offer a military tribute at 6:45 p.m. followed by the parish wake service at 7 p.m. with Sister Roberta Marie Doneth officiating. Visitation will resume Saturday, March 18, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church from 9 a.m.  until time of Mass at 10 a.m. with the Rev. James Fitzpatrick officiating.

Inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Rogers City branch of Hospice of Michigan in appreciation for their kindness and loving support.
