Kathleen “Bugsie” Kowalski

Kathleen “Bugsie” Kowalski, 94, of Rogers City, passed away May 25, 2017 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena.

She was born February 11, 1923 in Rogers City to Ernest and Effie (Lamb) Dennis.

Kathleen graduated from Rogers City High School. She was self-employed by H & R Block and retired after many years of tax preparation. She was a mother and homemaker who l

oved to read, sew and participate in Bible studies. Treasured moments included weekly card games with family, weekly bridge games with the ladies and playing the card game “13” with her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Kowalski is survived by her five children, Dennis and Patrick of Rogers City, Jeffrey (Lana) of Rogers City, Kathleen (David) Viegelahn of Rogers City and Kerry Wood of Trenton; nine grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; and niece, Jan Camper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; grandson, Travis; her sister, Thora (Ivan) Bannon; and son-in-law, Robert Wood.

A private family memorial service will take place during the summer. Memorial contributions may be given to MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena; Rogers City Tendercare activity room or a humane society of your choice. Arrangements are in care of the Beck Funeral Home.
