Lawrence K. Luttman

Lawrence K. Luttman, “Larry”, 53, of Rogers City, formerly of Onaway, died Monday May 1, 2017 at home. The son of Norman and Edith (Brown) Luttman, Larry was born in Kalamazoo August 3, 1963.

Larry moved to Onaway in 1998 from Chicago where he had worked as a carpenter doing commercial and residential construction. A talented finish carpenter, Larry worked with his father in the Onaway area doing remodeling and helping with the construction and finish work of the Onaway Seventh Day Adventist Church.  Larry was very proud of Luttman and Son Construction.

A private person, who was very quiet, Larry enjoyed the outdoors and the woods of northern Michigan. He loved riding his four-wheeler and making trails through the woods, picking morel mushrooms each spring, and fishing. Larry was a great shot on the pool table and loved to go golfing with his dad. With his impressive golf swing he could hit the ball a mile. He was a collector of model cars, loved to watch movies, and enjoyed going to garage sales. As a younger man he enjoyed family camping trips in the camper he and his dad built together.

Surviving Larry is his father, Norman Luttman of Onaway; sister, Linda (Ken) Amstutz of Pinckney; aunt, Leona (Carl) Peterman of Onaway; niece, Jessica; nephew, Andy; and several cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Edith “Edie” Luttman in 2015.

A memorial service was held at the Onaway Seventh Day Adventist Church Monday May 8. The Rev. Mike Szynkowski officiated.  Larry’s final resting place is at Hillcrest Cemetery in Onaway.
