Virginia Mae Sharp

Virginia Mae Sharp, 95, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away peacefully July 30, 2017 at Woodland Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 3401 E. River Road, Mt. Pleasant, Monday, August 14, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jonathon Bakker officiating. The family will receive friends on the day of the service beginning at 10 a.m. A luncheon will be held at Zion Lutheran Church fellowship hall immediately following the memorial service.

Burial of ashes will take place in Peace Lutheran Cemetery Rogers City at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Christ the King Chapel or Woodland Hospice.  Envelopes will be available at the church.

Virginia was born May 6, 1922 in Rogers City to Herman and Margaret (Tank) Klann. Virginia married Jack Sharp in 1964, and he preceded her i

n death in 1997.  She was a secretary at an insurance company in Detroit for 35 years. Virginia loved attending Zion Lutheran Church (CTK Chapel), and driving her red Buick.  She was also an avid reader.

Virginia is survived by her nieces, Mary Jarman (Dale) of Mt. Pleasant and Kristy Fairbanks (Dave Jackson) of Shepherd; nephew, Charles Langdon (Millie) of Siren, Wisconsin; three grand-nieces and a grand-nephew; and nine great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Harold and his wife Lorene; brother, Marvin; and special nephew, Eric “Von” Klann.
