Darek worked through the IBEW driving truck for Great Lakes Power and Pipe before going to North Dakota to work pressure testing oil wells.  Spending most of his life in the Onaway area, Darek loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, but his passion was fishing. Darek would fish anywhere and everywhere; it didn’t matter as long as he had a fishing pole in his hand and could wet a line. He enjoyed horseback riding with his family, camping, sitting around a campfire with friends, and hanging out at his aunt and uncle’s Northland Bar.  Likeable, with a great sense of humor, Darek was a lot of fun and had many friends.

Family was important to Darek and he loved spending time with them. A devoted daddy, Darek loved to play with his little girls and snuggle with them. He also was a protective big brother with a special place in his heart for little sister, Jaidyn. Darek’s friendly smile, his love for making people laugh, and his devotion to family will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

Surviving Darek is his wife, Terri Dennis, of Onaway; two beautiful daughters, Avah Joyce and Aaleiyah Ma

rie; his mother, Tara Lively of Onaway; sisters, Jaidyn Lively of Onaway, and Taylor Lively and Tyler Ross, both of Saginaw; his father, Ernie Dennis of Montana; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  Darek was preceded in death by his dad, Chris Lively.

Cremation arrangements were in care of the Chagnon Funeral Home. Darek’s family will honor his memory in a Life Celebration Saturday, November 11, from noon until 3 p.m. at Havel’s Northland Bar in Onaway. Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider making a donation in memory of Darek to his family for his little girls.
