Todd W. Willey, 54, a lifelong resident of Onaway, died at home Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Born in Onaway September 13, 1963, Todd was the son of Dale and Juanita (Bowen) Willey. He married Barbara O’Meara May 1, 1982 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Onaway.
Todd worked as a journeyman lineman out of the IBEW local 876. He was steadfast in the ideals our country was founded on, stood up for what he believed in and was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. He had a reverence for nature and loved animals. Todd enjoyed boating on Black Lake, fishing and hunting. Spending a lot of time in his garage, Todd loved working on his equipment or whatever project he had going.
Compassionate and caring, Todd had a big heart. He gave generously to the poor and hungry. He loved his family dearly, always worrying about them, making sure they had plenty to eat and making sure they were dressed warm.
When his children would leave the house, he would always ask, “Do you have your hat?”
He had integrity, was good-hearted and was always ready to lend a helping hand. His warm smile and caring way will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving Todd is his wife of more than 35 years, Barbara; daughters, Laura and Alyssa; son, Wade; and three grandchildren, Landon, Halle and Princeton, all of Onaway. Todd also leaves his father, Dale (Pam) Willey of Onaway; mother, June (Bill) Eppler of Cortez, Florida; brothers, Brad(Lisa) of Levering and Don (Ruth) of Onaway; grandfather, Donald Bowen; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Visitation was at the Chagnon Funeral Home Sunday, January 14. The funeral service was at the funeral home Monday with the Rev. Carmen Cook officiating. Todd’s final resting place will be in Tower at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
