Robert Samuel Radke

Robert Samuel Radke, 85, of Belknap Township passed away peacefully at home March 1, 2018.

He was born August 4, 1932 in Royston to Adolph and Beatrice (Beauregard) Radke.

Bob graduated from Rogers City High School in 1952. He served in the United States Army in the 371st Armored Infantry in Germany following World War II.
On June 15, 1957 he married Donna Showers at the First Congregational Church in Alpena. Bob retired from the Lafarge Corporation April 7, 1995.

He was a life member of the Posen Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 7804. Bob enjoyed watching all sporting events of his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; four children, Michael (Gail) of Tower, Paul (Amy) of Rogers City, Sheryl Carpenter of Rogers

City and Timothy (Kelli) of Johannesburg; 11 grandchildren, Julia White, Jeremiah (Melissa) Radke, Jeremy Karsten, Nicole Radke, Andrew Radke, Kristine Carpenter, Rebecca (Kyle) Poston, Sara Carpenter, Dustin Radke, Jace Radke and Trent Radke; and nine great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Beatrice; in-laws, Eljay and Gertrude Showers; and a great-grandson, Alexander Gloria.

Visitation was at the Beck Funeral Home Sunday, March 4, through time of his memorial service with the Rev. Larae Rutenbar officiating.
Posen VFW accorded military immediately following.

Inurnment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Alpena at a later date.
