Blessed with 58 years of marriage, Gary married Judy K. Knoder in Indian River November 17, 1962 and they made their home in Onaway.

Gary’s career was in the asphalt and paving business where he worked for 36 years as a truck driver.  He retired from H & D in Petoskey and previously had worked for Lake and Howell.  He was a member of Teamsters Local No. 406. A hardworking guy, after retirement, Gary continued to work doing wiring jobs with the Bailey Boys as well as helping his friend Chuck Bruder with farming.

A lifelong resident of northern Michigan, Gary was an avid outdoorsman.  With his passion for the outdoors passed to him from his father, Gary loved deer hunting and was an expert fisherman. He especially looked forward to the annual fishing trip to Canada with his son and sons-in-law.  The days spent fishing the lakes in Canada were always memorable, with plenty of ribbing, teasing and eating freshly caught fish.

Gary’s other passion was his family.  He and Judy loved to camp with their family and spend time together. They took camping trips to the U. P. but also camped locally because Gary’s favorite camping spot was site 49 at Black Lake.

A bit of a handyman, Gary was a good carpenter and electrician, and knew a little bit about everything when it came to home improvement and repairs.  A caring father, Gary helped his kids with projects at their homes and whatever else they needed help with.

Gary will be remembered for his excellent sense of humor (sometimes a little twisted but all in good fun).  He loved to joke, occasionally play a prank and loved to have a good laugh.  He was known for being straightforward, often letting others know exactly what his thoughts were.

Gary was a good friend and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving Gary is his wife, Judy Price of Onaway; his daughters, Sherry (Scott) Cruse of Afton and Missy (George) Kuznicki of Ocqueoc; a son, Kevin (Brandy) Price of Ona

way; his grandchildren, Jaclyn Price, Ricky Cruse, Joelle Cruse, Gregory (Katie) Kuznicki and Amanda Kuznicki; and four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Skylar, Reagan and Cataleya.

Gary also leaves his brother, Dan (Doreen) Price of Millersburg; and three sisters, Marie (Jerry) Madden of Clio, and Nancy (Mark) Ennes and Shirley (Doug) Hale, both of Tower; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation was held at the Chagnon Funeral Home Sunday, Oct. 11, with the funeral service Oct. 12 with the Rev. Josh Ferraiuolo officiating. Gary’s final resting place is at Hillcrest Cemetery in Onaway.

Memorials may be sent  to McLaren Home Care and Hospice, c/o Northern Michigan Foundation, 360 Connable Ave., Suite 3, Petoskey, MI 49770.
