Mary Jane Malone
Mary Jane Malone, 78, of Rogers City passed away peacefully at home November 26, 2020.
She was born June 4, 1942 in Rogers City to Anthony and Nellie (Sobeck) Yarch.
Mary Jane graduated from Rogers City High School in 1960. She received her nursing certificate from Northwest Michigan College in Traverse City. Her first assignment was at Alpena General Hospital until she moved to Kansas City. Mary Jane moved back to the area and worked for private medical practices in Gaylord. She was very involved with her church, St. Ignatius. She enjoyed sewing and baking.
She is survived by her son, Tony of Elkton; daughter, Cathy (Tom) Erfurdt of Thurmont, Maryland; and two granddaughters, Kelly Erfurdt and Kristy Erfurdt.
Visitation was at the Beck Funeral Home Monday, November 30, where the rosary was recited immediately followed by the parish wake service. Visitation resumed Tuesday at St. Ignatius Catholic Church from until time of her Mass with the Rev. Rolando Silva officiating.
Interment followed at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to McLaren Hospice to benefit the Rogers City-Alpena area.
