She was born September 8, 1932 in Detroit to George and Iva (Kortman) Baker.

Norma was always a busy woman, even after her stroke in 2014 that took her mobility and speech, it did not slow her down. Norma was known to always have something delicious cooking in the kitchen, homemade bread, and sticky rolls, jams and jellies, venison, canned goods, and even a little homemade brandy or wine. She loved gardening outdoors, many people driving by the farm always would mention how beautiful the lawn looked. Norma could often be found with a kitchen knife digging out dandelions from the grass, while Corky was restringing the weed whip for her to finish “edging” the driveway. When finished her and Corky could be found sharing a Busch Light and tomato juice on the green wooden swing under the beautiful lilac tree. Those who knew Norma knew her strong love for her family. Above all things she loved her grandchildren. She always made sure to call them whether for 5 or 50 minutes, wrote letters and even sent them a little cash here and there. She always had the right words to say and knew when they were needed. She and Corky put many hours and miles on the LeSabre on the roads of Michigan traveling to and from ballgames, plays, dance recitals and graduations. She had immense love for all of them. She spent time with her girlfriends at the bowling alley, and the casino, hoping to win a little but it was more of the time together that she enjoyed, rather than “hitting it big.”

She is survived by her four children, Brad (Linda Gardella) Buczkowski, Jerry Buczkowski, Jennie (Karl) Klingshirn and David (Rose) Buczkowski; 11 grandchildren, Kurt (Kiilani) Buczkowski, Katie (Adam) Bennett, Kory Klingshirn, Kaitlin (Andrew) Lalonde, Alicia (Mike) Gill, Amanda Buczkowski, Hunter Buczkowski, Logan Buczkowski, Erika Buczkowski, Megan (Stephen) Kolavo and Lauren (Vinny Freeman) Buczkowski; 11 great-grandchildren, Mya and Luke Bennett, Noelani and Lilah Belle Buczkowski, Charlotte Lalonde, Izabelle and Aiden Soto, and Athena, Anaya, Achilles and Aurora Toran; and two sisters, Betty Wright and Peggy (Carl) Grulke.
