Jamesina “Jimmy” Reeves

Mrs. Jamesina “Jimmy” Reeves, 80, of Atlanta, formerly of Highland, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 at McLaren Northern Michigan hospital in Petoskey. Jimmy was born in Detroit January 5, 1942 to the late, James and Elizabeth “Betty” (Mitchell) Ribble. She married, Gordon “Lee” Reeves November 20, 1965 and together the couple celebrated 56 years of marriage before her passing. Jimmy graduated from Milford High School and Eastern Michigan University with a degree in secondary education and library science. She was both a teacher and a librarian at Huron Valley Schools for 30 years. She was a member of the Canada Creek Ranch Security Committee, editor of The Ranch Newspaper, and co-chairwoman of the Ladies Auxiliary in her retirement. An avid reader, Jimmy could always be found with a book or her Kindle in her hand.

Jimmy is survived by her loving husband, Lee Reeves; a daughter, Amy (Brent) Nichols; a son-in-law, Matthew (Korey) Jenkins; her granddaughters, Olivia Nichols, Anna Nichols and Emma Jenkins; stepson, Tim (Vanessa) Reeves and their children; a sister, Sandra Leavenworth; and a special niece and nephew, Mary Roan and Mark Leavenworth. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Caroline Jenkins; a nephew, James Leavenworth; a great-nephew, Casey Leavenworth; and her parents, James and Betty Ribble. 

A memorial will be held in celebration of Jimmy’s life Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 1-3 p.m. at the Elbo-Inn, Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you support the Canada Creek Ranch Foundation Inc. to help fund scholarships for high school students from the Ranch.
