Randy K. Palmer

Randy K. Palmer passed onto the Lord Friday July 1, 2022 at McLaren Northern Michigan hospital in Petoskey surrounded by her loving family.  She was born January 4, 1943 in Pontiac, to Roy and Caroline (Werner) Branscombe. On January 30, 1960, she married John L. Palmer (“Jack”) of Onaway and has been a member of the Onaway community ever since.  Jack and Randy established the Palmer Farm on Black River Road in 1962 and have worked side by side ever since.

Randy really enjoyed family get-togethers and did a wonderful job of preparing big meals, as cooking and baking were among her favorite things to do. She also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, loved to travel and go to Broadway shows and plays.  She enjoyed tending to her gardens and flowers and would finish her work-filled days by reading a good book. All members of her family were Randy’s number one priority.  She was always ready to help and give of herself.

Randy will be missed by her husband of 62 years, Jack Palmer of Onaway; daughters, Katherine Biland of Lake Orion and Tracy Palmer Daly of Ireland; a son, John (H

annah) Palmer of Onaway; eight grandchildren, Allie and Mathias Biland, Lily and Liam Palmer, Johnny Palmer (Carmen), Melissa Palmer (Brian), Travis (Crystal) Horrocks and Ricky (Erika) Price; as well as her great-grandchildren, Jack and Jameson Palmer, Hannah, Morgan, Avery, and Raegan Wearn, Tucker Price, and Clara and Oliver Horrocks. Randy also leaves her sisters, Patty (Bill) Raushi of Prescott, Peggy (Rick) Cashen of Mount Pleasant, Barb Hancock, Marion Hancock and Sandy (Don) Roberts, all of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Branscombe; and a grandson, Jack Roy Palmer.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 27,  from 3 until 7 p.m. at the Palmer Farm, 5454 South Black River Road, Onaway.  Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider a donation in memory of Randy to the Onaway Ambulance Equipment Fund or the Friends of the Onaway Library.  Cremation arrangements were in care of Chagnon Funeral Home.
