Urlene Joyce Cousineau

Urlene Joyce Cousineau, 96, of Rogers City passed away October 23, 2022 at Medilodge in Rogers City.

She was born October 11, 1926 in Alpena to Louis and Ruth (Pake) Selke.

Urlene married Edward Cousineau October 12, 1946 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Alpena. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. 

She volunteered for the kindergarten class at Rogers City Elementary School and was known as the “Milk Lady.” She was an excellent cook and baker.

She is survived by her daughter, Lou Ann (John) Dillon of Pinehurst, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Tonya (Chuck) Leckenby of Farmington; a great-grandson, Charlie Leckenby; a sister, Donna (Dick) Peacock of Rogers City; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and wonderful friends.

Mrs. Cousineau was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 1982; a daughter, Karen Sue Robb in 2007; a daughter, Judy Lee Cousineau in 2011; and a granddaughter, Tara Irvan in 2001.

h Friday, October 28, from 10 a.m. through time of her funeral at 11a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Greg and Rev. Karen Zurakowski officiating.  Luncheon provided after church service.

Burial will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Alpena.

Memorials may be given to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Hospice of Michigan or MediLodge of Rogers City in memory of Urlene Cousineau.

The family would like to thank Shirley Haan, Jessica Olden, MediLodge of Rogers City staff and Hospice of Michigan staff for several months of friendship and special care.
