Arthur “Art” Harry Budnik
Arthur “Art” Harry Budnik, 94, of Posen passed away unexpectedly at home November 2, 2022.
He was born July 2, 1928 in Rogers City to Frank and Emily (Kapala) Budnik.
Arthur is survived by six children, Ann (Mark) Bruski, Chris Gryniewicz, Cyndi Bruski, Robert (Jen) Budnik, Kathy (Pat) Hubert and Norm (Kim) Budnik; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Marvin (Evelyn); a sister, Carol (Gerald) Kalkman; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Budnik.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret “Marge”; parents, Frank and Emily; brothers, Arnold and Michael; and two sons-in-law, Robert Bruski and Norman Gryniewicz.
On June 24, 1950 he married Margaret Polaski at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen. He worked at Abitibi – Price for 34 years, retiring as a journeyman electrician in 1990. Art played in a polka band and sang in the church choir for many years.
Art was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He and Marge volunteered at all of the Posen Potato Festivals. They had a great love for helping in the community. Visitation was at the Beck Funeral Home Monday, November 7, where the Knights of Columbus recited the rosary followed by the parish wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation resumed Tuesday at St. Casimir Catholic Church until time of his Mass with the Rev. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.
Burial will take place at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
