June Mason
June Mason, 93, of Onaway, died peacefully Saturday, March 16, 2024, at The Brook of Cheboygan. The daughter of Otto and Gladys (Clementson) Ballard, June was born in Tower June 7, 1930.
On December 25, 1948, she married Lloyd A. Mason in Tower. They were blessed with 67 years of marriage at the time of Lloyd’s death in 2015.
A wife, mother and homemaker, June also worked for a time at the front desk of the United Auto Workers Education Center at Black Lake.
An excellent cook, she enjoyed making meals for her family and baked the best apple pies.
She loved to play euchre and was a regular for the card games at the Afton Community Club. For years, she and Lloyd enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd in 2015; a son, Thomas; a sister, Marvel Rogers; a brother, Virgil Steward; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Mason; and a son-in-law, John Shaloy.
June will be honored by her family privately. Her final resting place will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tower. Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider a donation in memory of June to the Onaway Ambulance Equipment Fund.
