He was preceded in death by his mother, Lynn.

Keith has many friends who are deeply saddened by his passing. And though our friend has gone from us, it will be hard to forget someone who has given us so much to remember.

He loved hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors. He liked to garden and share the produce he grew, as well as cook a good meal.

He had a good heart. He liked to do special things for the people he cared about. He remembered the little things, even when you thought he wasn’t listening, he would surprise you with a small gift, or your favorite snack-he was thoughtful like that.

Keith, like to share stories of his many adventures and knew many helpful things. From hunting and fishing tips, to how to string a sailboat sail or even how to shoe a horse he was always full of surprises of the many things he knew

. He also liked to tell funny stories of his many adventures. And his stories will be remembered and passed on through all of his friends, and loved ones who will continue to tell them as they remember Keith.

“Each one of us has a personal story about who Keith was to each of us, but collectively, we all agree, he was a unique character who has touched ours hearts, and added to our own life stories. We will always remember him, as he is pretty unforgettable.

“So rest in peace, Keith we will remember you at deer camp or the next bonfire and many days in between. Rest in peace, ‘young man.’”

The Smillie family and the Metty family will be organizing a tribute for Keith May 18 from 2 to 6 p.m. in Millersburg.
