Dwayne Abbe

 Dwayne Abbe, of Onaway, went to his final resting place May 19, 2024, at 90 years of age at the McLaren Northern Michigan – Cheboygan Campus. Son of the late Ward and Premilia (Seymore) Abbe, Dwayne was born in Midland March 30, 1934. Dwayne retired from Saginaw Steering Gear at the young age of 49. After retirement Dwayne kept himself busy, always ready and willing to help friends and family whenever he could. He was a man with many skills, a jack-of-all-trades, and he loved hunting, fishing. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Irma, of 71 years; sons, Dan (Lynne Kulik) Abbe and Brian (Krysten) Abbe; daughter, Roxanne Abbe; grandchildren, Adam Deitlien, Nicole Lambert, Jamie Solomon, Brooke Kulick, Kelly Kulick and Jenny Diamanti; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his special niece, Cindy Burton; brothers-in-law, Lonnie and Val Dean Burton; sisters-in-law, Kelly Jean (Bob) Hallman, Rosetta Burton and Carol Caudel; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Loretta and Thelma; and a brother, Jack Abbe. 

In accordance with Dwayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 3, at Midland City Cemetery. The Rev. John Pohanka will officiate. If you cannot attend the burial, you are all cordially invited to a luncheon at the Auburn Pavilion immediately following the committal service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the donor’s favorite charity.
