Marie Elizabeth McDonald
Marie Elizabeth McDonald, 86, of Rogers City passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family October 11, 2024.
She was born April 1, 1938, in Rogers City to Paul and Cora (Flemming) Jaeger.
Marie graduated from Rogers City High School in 1956. She earned her licensed practical nurse license from North Central School for practical nursing in the fall of 1956.
On December 29, 1956 she married the love of her life, Richard McDonald at St. John Lutheran Church.
Marie enjoyed teaching Sunday School, directing the handbell choir, watching the Detroit Tigers and being Nana to her family.
Marie is survived by seven children, Susan (Larry) Altman, Paul (Pam) McDonald, Cora (Wayne) Augsburger, Cheryl (Mark) Kowalewsky, Mary Jo (Scott) Hein, Sarah (Jeff) Kamyszek and Elizabeth (Robert G. II) Entenmann; grandchildren, Melissa Altman, Amanda (Frankie) Jumper, Patrick (Erin) Altman, Kevin (Lauren) McDonald, Samantha (Thomas) Arms, Megan (Rett) Moreland, Elena (Tom) Hood, Stacie (Steve) Papineau, Matthew (Ashley) Augsburger, Taylor (Karlee) Kowalewsky, Sloan (Kristi) Kowalewsky, Cason Kowalewsky, Dustin (Kristine Paulfranz) Hein, Jacob (Veronica Szczerowski) Hein, Isaac Hein, Alyssa Jo Hein, Cole Kamyszek, Joshua Kamyszek, and Robert G. Entenmann III, Adelaide Entenmann and Richard Entenmann; great-grandchildren, Brandon (Jenna) McCormick, Hayli McCormick, Nevaeh McCormick, Taytum Schleben, Erica Jumper, Hunter Jumper, Ajay Jumper, Jase Jumper, Gracelyn Jumper, Sage Altman, Lillian McDonald, Abigail McDonald, Rylan Arms, Jackson Arms, Corinne Arms, Marley Peterson, Magnolia Moreland, Ella Papineau, Alexander Papineau, Ezekiel Kowalewsky, Primrose Kowalewsky, Lukah Kowalewsky, Morwenna Kowalewsky, Noah Hein, Hudson Hein and Colby Hein; and a great-great-granddaughter, Raelynn McCorm
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Cora; her infant brother, Richard; her husband, Richard; and an infant grandson, Rockford Entenmann.
Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home Friday, October 18, from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until time of her funeral at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jonathan Dueker officiating.
Interment will take place next to her husband, Richard, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church, St. John Lutheran School or Hospice of Michigan in memory of Marie McDonald.
