William “Bill” Joseph Altman

William “Bill” Joseph Altman, 95, of Hawks passed away peacefully at MyMichigan Health Center in Alpena October 18, 2024. 

He was born in Hagensville September 18, 1929, to William and Mary (Dost) Altman. 

He is survived by his wife, Alice; two daughters, Nancy (Dennis) Schellie of Grand Lake and Julie (Randy Stachnik) Altman of Cedar; two grandchildren; three gre

at-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; a sister-in-law, Ruth Altman; and many nieces and nephews 

Visitation was at the Beck Funeral Home Tuesday, October 22, where the Knights of Columbus led the rosary that evening. Visitation resumed Wednesday at St. Casimir Catholic Church until time of Mass with the Rev. Charlie Donajkowski officiating. Posen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7804 accorded military honors at church following Mass. Inurnment will take place at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery at a later date. 

Memorials may be given to St. Casimir Catholic Church in memory of Bill Altman.
