Judith “Judy” L. Swank
Judith “Judy” L. Swank, 63, of Onaway, gained her wings Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Born on May 1, 1961, she was one of 11 children born to Raymond and Shirley (Havens) Randall.
Judy was born and raised in Munising and was a 1979 graduate of Munising High School. Blessed with 26 years of marriage, she and Kenneth “Ken” Swank married September 4, 1998 in Davison. Through the years they made their home in Florida, Tennessee and Harbor Beach before moving to Onaway in 2016. One of Judy’s favorite places was the Upper Peninsula (U.P.), more specifically, Munising. And though she lived many places during her lifetime, her heart was always in her little hometown in the U.P.
Judy and Ken were two peas in a pod. They were best friends and did everything together, including managing several campgrounds in the Ocala National Forest in Florida and working together at Castle Rock Campground in St. Ignace. Judy was an excellent baker, an avid reader, and enjoyed crocheting. Above all she enjoyed her family. Her kids and grandchildren were Judy’s favorite hobby. She loved spending time with them, taking them out for ice cream, and going to the park. She also was quite fond of her little Chihuahua, Foxy.
Judy was loving, caring, and kind with a touch of feisty spunk. She always said what was on her mind so there was no guessing how Judy felt about things. She will be remembered for her devotion to Ken and her unconditional love for her family.
Judy will be sadly missed by her husband, Ken Swank, of Onaway; a son, Harley Kelley, of Bad Axe; daughters, Helen Schember of Bad Axe and Annamarie (Rick) Boshers of Tennessee; 10 grandchildr
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Randall; a grandson, Tucker Ratliff; and a granddaughter, Emma Ratliff.
Cremation has taken place and Judy will be honored by her family privately. Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider a donation in memory of Judy to the Cheboygan County Humane Society.
