Bernard Richard Litwinski

Bernard Richard Litwinski, 98, of Posen passed away at home May 13, 2025. 

He was born in Pulawski Township to Joseph and Eva (Koba) Litwinski January 19, 1927. 

On July 5, 1958, he married Margaret Filarski at St. Casimir Catholic Church. He began working as a carpenter at the age of 17. 

Then worked at Calcite as a yardman until his retirement in 1989. He raised beef cattle and other livestock on his farm his family homesteaded, as well as tending to his gardens. He loved the outdoors and spending time at the cottage he built at Grand Lake. 

Bernard is survived by his wife, Margaret; five children, Gregory (Kim Kreft) Litwinski of Posen, Noreen Budnik of Lewiston, Jacquelyn (Dave Opdyke) Hobart of Traverse City, Matthew (Kim) Litwinski

of Posen and Connie (Robert) Gerrie of Atlanta; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by all his siblings. 

Private visitation and service has taken place at Beck Funeral Home. 

Interment has taken place at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery. 

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Michigan in memory of Bernard Litwinski.
