Judith “Judi” Kay Idalski

Judith “Judi” Kay Idalski, 84, of Ocqueoc passed away June 30, 2026. 

She was born March 8, 1942, in Lansing to Arthur and Virginia (Leyrer) Eldridge. 

Judi grew up in Portland then in 1963 she moved to Traverse City. On April 17, 1983 she married Gerald Idalski and moved to Ocqueoc. You will probably remember her as the delivery person for the Detroit News and The Alpena News as well as a mail carrier in the Millersburg area. Judi was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, its Rosary Society and was a liturgical minister. 

She is survived by her husband, Gerald; eight children, April (Duane) Bush, Melody (Joe) Zerves, Mark (Lucille) Barrett, Scott Barrett, Jerry Jr., Kim (Lynn) Morrison, Tammy (Dan Stewart) Idalski and Hugh Idalski; many grandchildren; quite a few great-grandchildren; a sister, Joanne Sharp; a brother, James (Olyvia) Eldridge; as well as many

nieces and nephews. 

On Tuesday, July 7, the rosary was recited by the Rosary Society at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with public visiting until the time of her Mass with the Rev. Don Geyman officiating. 

Inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Ignatius School or St. Ignatius Rosary Society in memory of Judi Idalski.
