Earldean ‘dean’ Stamper

Earldean “Dean” Stamper, 94, of Rogers Township passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Medilodge of Rogers City.

The daughter of Clarence and Adelia (Bunker) Blair was born in Rogers City December 17, 1928.  After high school she moved to Detroit where she found a job at Bower Roller Bearing.  This is where she met Gerald Stamper they were married March 7, 1953, together they celebrated 62 years of marriage.  After retiring they spent 15 years in the Trout Lake area, before moving back to Rogers City.  Her final years were spent at Rogers City Medilodge where she enjoyed many laughs and memories with the staff.  Dean always enjoyed the company, and treasured her small family.  She enjoyed the casino and playing cards.   

Surviving is a brother, Thomas Blair; two special nieces, Clara Budnik and Judith (Alan) Meyer; a brother-in-law, Larry Kozikowski; a sister-in-law, Glenda Keast; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, February 16, 2016; five

sisters, Elaine Amacher, Lorraine Colflesh, Fern Bellmore, Eleanor Schumann and Linda Kozikowski; and a brother, Willard Blair. 

Visitation will be  today (Thursday, October 5) at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral Mass with the Rev. Charles Donajkowski officiating.  Burial will be following at Mount Calvary Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements are in the care of Hentkowski Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. Ignatius Catholic School.
