David Greengtski
David Greengtski was a symbol of genuine hope and determination. Even through the 18 years after a spinal cord injury left him a quadriplegic, he never seemed to stop smiling. On April 15, 2024, David stopped smiling for us in this world, but there is no doubt he is carrying that smile through to Heaven with his mom and dad.
David was born and raised in Posen where he worked in carpentry with his father, Donald, before working in road construction. David shattered many medical statistics about quadriplegic survival post catastrophic injury. He lived beyond his “condition” through the love of his family and friends, and, of course, through the unrelenting strength of his beloved sisters, Kathy and Shari. It was their love and care, the brightest beacon of hope, that enabled him to defy all odds put in front of him.
David is, and will always be, life’s inspiration of finding simplistic joy and happiness, even in the darkest corners of tragedy that had befallen him. But more importantly, he will be celebrated each time a genuine smile is shared, good food is eaten, beer bottles are clinked, and classic rock is played; all of David’s favorite things.
David is survived by his two sisters, Kathy (Ron) and Shari (Daryl); his nieces and nephew, Shannon, Ryan (Susan), Kari (Spencer) and Stacy (Will); and their children Emmie and Vivi (Ryan), Sullivan (Kari) and Francesca (Stacy). He was preceded in death by his father, Donald; mother, Helen; and brother, Terry.
In lieu of flowers, share a smile and donate to the charity of your choice in David’s memory.
