Lola Jean Ellenberger
Lola Jean Ellenberger, 91, of Millersburg, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, May 5, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born in Rogers City November 14, 1934, she was the daughter of Emil and Lelah (Bruder) Schaedig and spent her entire life as a resident of Presque Isle County. Lola dedicated much of her life to caring for others, both at home and in her professional career. She was a homemaker and worked as a registered nurse at various hospitals and facilities throughout northern Michigan. Deeply devoted to her Christian faith, Lola was a longtime member of Ocqueoc Baptist Church where she served the congregation as the church pianist for many years.
She is survived by her children, Carol (Dave) Badgero of Millersburg, LuAnn Forth (Ron Bingham) of Taylor, Texas, Mark (Kathy) Ellenberger of Millersburg, Matthew Ellenberger of Onaway, Tamara (Steve) Buckwheat of Cheboygan and Jeffrey (Susan) Ellenberger of Millersburg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Joyce Morton of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Cyndie Ellenberger; sisters, Virginia Maynard, Carol Spidel, Shirley Reed and Joanne Bruder; and brothers, Earl and Raymond Schaedig.
In accordance with Lola’s wishes, cremation has taken place. She will be honored in a private remembrance by her family.
