Donna Ruth Buckley
Donna Ruth Buckley, 99, of Rogers City, formerly of Onaway passed away peacefully at Medilodge in Rogers City Monday, January 26, 2026.
She was born in Sturgis December 29, 1926 to Charles and Ruth (Warner) Merritt. Donna was a teacher’s aide in Onaway for many years, retiring in 1989. She was an active member at Onaway United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two children, Sharon (Mike) Modrzynski and Bruce (Sherri) Buckley; five grandchildren, Kristopher (Colleen) Modrzynski, Justin (Ines) Modrzynski, Sara Beck, Samantha Perry and Meaghan (Andrei) Stihi; and nine great-grandchildren, Samuel, Grace, William, Kennedy, Hadley, Eleanor, Evelyn, Aida and Vera.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Buckley; her husband, Verle; and a daughter-in-law, Erin.
Friends may visit at the Onaway United Methodist Church Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. through time of her memorial service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Janice Miller officiating.
Inurnment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery.
