Christmas cheer in the Nautical City

Santa Claus got a royal ride with the ladies of the Miss Rogers City pageant. Miss Rogers City Victoria Bullock rides with second runner-up Maddie Steiger (incorrectly identified as first runner-up in the Advance. Jacquelyn Hart, not pictured, is the actual first runner-up). The float was one of 10 in the Rogers City Area Chamber of Commerce Light Up the City parade Saturday.

The Rogers City Optimist Club kicked off the Christmas season with its annual tree lighting ceremony in Westminster Park. The club put up 134 trees which were sponsored as a fundraiser for charitable causes the club supports in the community.
