Fishing in Rogers City was busy Saturday and Sunday as the Fat Hogs Fishing Frenzy took over. Some nice fish were caught including some larger salmon.
When it was all said and done, the winners were the crew of the Looney Bin with a total weight of 106.57 pounds. Each day boats weighed in their top three fish to get to the two-day total. Todd, Terry, Ty and Troy Wortley and Terry Kowalski won the event and celebrated the win with shouts and cheers.
Taking second place was Dock Knocker, with captain Jayme Warwick and his crew as they caught 101.96 pounds of fish in the two-day tournament.  Third place went to Great White with a total of 97.03 pounds.
Prizes were also awarded for the largest walleye, steelhead, lake trout and salmon of each day.
Dylan Orr, captain of the boat Hard Ripples took home both $50 prizes for largest walleye with a 4.76 pound fish Saturday and a 8.19 pound walleye caught Sunday.

This year the Rogers City Hurons Athletic Boosters was on hand and collected $669, $569 came from the sales of the tickets while Matt Bredow won a $100 prize Sunday and donated it back to the sports boosters. “I believe this is the most money we have gave to one of our charities,” said organizer Terry Flewelling.
