Margaret E. Grambau

Margaret E. Grambau, 89, of Rogers City passed away September 28, 2016 at Rogers City Tendercare. She was born September 29, 1926 in Alpena to Joseph and Elizabeth (Romel) Stepanski.

Margaret graduated as valedictorian from St. Bernard High School in 1945. On November 22, 1952 she married Erhardt Grambau at St. Mary Catholic Church in Alpena. She worked with Dr. Walter Hawkins as his dental assistant for many years. Margaret was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Mrs. Grambau is survived by her son, Karl (Heidi); three grandchildren, Andrew, Greta and Phillip; three brothers, Raymond, Arthur and Joseph Jr.; a sister, Theresa (Patrick) Dignan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erhardt in 1990; parents, Joseph and Elizabeth;
two brothers, Clement and Thomas; three sisters, Alice Brousseau, Elaine Olsen and Jeanette Stepanski.

Friends’ visitation was at St. Ignatius Catholic Church Saturday through time of Mass with the Rev. Sylvestre Obwaka officiating.  Burial followed at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Margaret Grambau’s memory to St. Ignatius Catholic School. Arrangements are in care of the Beck Funeral Home.
