Anna Marie Karsten

Anna Marie Karsten, 91, of Rogers City passed away December 6, 2018 at Birch Lane AFC Home.

She was born February 5, 1927 in Rogers City to Paul and Marie (Dobbert) Kreft.

Anna attended St. John Lutheran School in Rogers City and graduated from Rogers City High School in 1945. She went on to graduate from Bay City Business College in 1946. 

Anna was employed by Michigan Limestone as a secretary and the family business – Karsten’s Dairy. The Rev. Louis Lynn married Anna Marie Kreft and Lewis Karsten November 20, 1948 at St. John Lutheran Church in Rogers City. She enjoyed traveling with close friends, golfing, knitting and crocheting. 

Mrs. Karsten is survived by two sons, William of Rogers City and Lee (Karen) of Elmira; five grandchildren, Justin (Elizabeth) Karsten, Brandon (Nicole Grulke) Karsten, Heather Karsten, Alayna Karsten and Kyle Karsten; three great-granddaughters, Ava, Lillian and Hailey; a sister, Alberta “Dolly” Kla

nn of Hillman; and a brother, Carl Kreft of Pickens, South Carolina.

Anna Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; parents; infant sons, Gerald and Ronald; daughter, Janet; a sister Amanda (Herbert) Domke; and two brothers, Paul (Bernice) and Robert (Mary). 

Visitation was at the Beck Funeral Home Monday, December 10, with a prayer service conducted that evening. Visitation resumed Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church through time of her funeral with the Rev. Kurt Lambart officiating.

Interment will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
