Darwin William Brege

Darwin William Brege, 77, of Rogers City passed away peacefully at home December 6, 2018.

He was born July 29, 1941 in Rogers City to Paul and Theresa (Schaedig) Brege.

After high school Darwin served in the United States Army until July of 1962. 

On January 19, 1963 he married Barbara Tulgetske at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Darwin worked at Karsten’s Dairy, Sherwin Williams Paint Co. and U.S. Steel from 1967 until he retired in 1995 as quarry and maintenance manager. He enjoyed hunting, baseball, spending time with his grandkids and cruising the back roads of Moltke.

Darwin is survived by three daughters, Pamela Burns of Rogers City, and Jodi Brege and Edie (Brad) Budnik of Rogers City; four grandchildren, Tyler (Kimmie) Wolfe of Ypsilanti, Dakota Burns of Madison Heights, Ashley (Brett) Farrelly of Grand Rapids and Bailey Budnik of Grand Rapids; two brothers, Archibald (Deanna) Brege of Alpena and Ronald (

Norma) Brege of Howell; and a sister, Ida Mae Morley of Alpena.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara in 2007; three brothers, Clifford, Clayton and Myron; and a sister, Anna May Brege.

Friends visited at Immanuel Lutheran Church Tuesday, December 11, from 10 a.m. through time of his funeral at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kurt Lambart officiating. Rogers City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 607 offered a military tribute immediately following church services.

Memorials may be given in memory of Darwin Brege to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
