Mary Madeline Pawelek

Mary Madeline Pawelek, 88, of Metz Township passed away Thursday morning, April 25, 2019.

The daughter of John and Pauline (Konarzewski) Molski, Mary was born March 24, 1931 in Hawks. She married Joseph L. Pawelek July 21, 1951 in Detroit. 

Mary loved to cook Polish foods for the family, go deer hunting, spend time in her garden, play cards with her card playing girlfriends every Wednesday and sitting around the campfire singing songs with her family and especially loved time spent with her grandkids. Mom was proud that she earned her GED (general equivalency diploma) later in life. 

Mary was a dedicated worker at all the St. Dominic Festivals and church functions. Mom always said, “If it wasn’t for President Roosevelt we would have probably lost the farm.” Aunt Babe will be missed by all. 

Mary is survived by two sons, Ken (Janice) Pawelek and Chris (Jessica) Pawelek; two daughters,
Connie (Don) Dziesinski and Annette Koss; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Robert, Jesse, Aaron, Melanie, Chad, Laura, Addison, Eleanor, Gabrielle and Quentin; seven great-grandchildren, Rory, Marrah, Madilyn, Alissa, Tomick, Emory and Marlowe; and a sister, Sophie Bialecki.

She was preceded in death by; her parents, John and Pauline; husband, Joseph, July 10, 1981;
and a son, Joseph Jr., March 24, 1980. The youngest of 10 children Mary was also preceded in death by siblings, Joseph Molski, Casimir Molski, Matthew Molski, Bernard Molski, C

hester Molski, Betty Albert, Helen Kowalewski and Clara Lobaza. 

Friends may visit at St. Dominic Catholic Church Saturday, May 4, from noon through time of her memorial Mass at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating. 

Inurnment will follow at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery. 

Per Mary’s wish, memorials may be given to St. Dominic Parish Building Fund, Hospice of Michigan or Posen High School Robotics Team.
