Working mainly in factories and doing assembly line work, Duane worked at Essex Wire and Northern Diecast Corporation. A lifelong resident of northern Michigan, Duane loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved throwing a game of horseshoes and camping at Clear Lake where he would wake everyone early in the morning to pick huckleberries for pancakes.  A calm and quiet

guy, Duane was quite reserved around those he didn’t know.  He was set in his ways and believed in his opinions.

Surviving Duane are his sons, Mike of Cody, Wyoming, and Pat, Chuck and Duane II (Tracy Prow), all of Onaway; a daughter, Cindy Bishop (Mike McGrath) of Onaway; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; as well as his sister, Betty Jordan of Indian River.  Duane was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, in 1993; an infant sister, Carolyn; and his parents.

Duane’s family received friends at a Celebration of Life gathering at the Tower Hall Sunday, July 14. Duane was laid to rest with his wife Joan at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tower. Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider a donation in memory of Duane to his family to help with expenses.
