Ester Santimo

Ester Santimo 95, of Rogers City, our dearest mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, was reunited in heaven with the Lord, September 16, 2019. She passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side.

She was born April 2, 1924 in Rogers City, the daughter of Paul and Anna (Dembny) Mulka.

She attended St. Ignatius Catholic School and graduated from Rogers City High School in 1942. She started her first job working for Briggs manufacturing in Detroit, during World War II. She married the love of her life, Richard E. Santimo, February 16, 1946. She worked at General Motors Co. for 25 years, retiring in December 1983. She was an active member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and a member of the Rosary Society.

Ester is survived by her children, Kaye (Charles) Balyeat, Michele Allard and Robert Santimo; sisters, Dorothy Morley, Pauline Henry and Martha (Stanley) Smolinski; five grandchildren;?12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

ichard Santimo; a son, Richard Santimo; siblings, Phillip Mulka, Gerald Mulka, Julia Mulka, Sophie Socia, Helen Hopp, Mary Biernott and Patricia Gabrysiak.

Friends may visit at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church Monday, November 11, where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. followed by visitation at 9 a.m. through time of her memorial Mass at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Rolando Silva officiating.
